The theme for this year’s celebration, “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience,” is exceptionally timely in light of the burgeoning effects of climate change, particularly on land resources. These new developments are significantly impacting food security worldwide.
In this context, everyone needs to see themselves as stakeholders in stemming the tide. Conscious efforts such as promoting eco-friendly farming methods, implementing proper waste management, encouraging the use of cleaner energy sources, and more can be considered practical steps to mitigate negative environmental issues.
